"FIT WITH THE RIGHT
FOOD"
Lies About Dieting
If you belong to the half of the population that is in a constant
battle with its extra weight, you have probably encountered and attempted
to follow some of the following advice, theories and promises
| Myth #1: Fat makes you fat |
The USA is the nation with the largest quantity of low fat and fat free
foods, yet half of its population is overweight
Fat only causes weight gain if it is denatured (!altered by chemical
processes!), that is, heated or hardened. Therefore, avoid fried foods, but
also hardened margarine and low fat spreads.
Fat makes you feel full and this feeling lasts long, that is, you keep
blood sugar levels from fluctuating, which, in turn, lessens the desire for
sweets and high carb snacks, a large amount of which the body actually stores
as FAT.
Intake fat from plant oils, especially a daily minimum of 6 tablespoons
of cold pressed oil (e.g. Olive oil), or 1-2 handfulls of nuts and/or seeds.
They speed up your metabolism and protect your skin and mucus membranes. |
| Myth #2: Sugar free diet foods save calories and therefore help
you to lose weight |
What's the point of counting calories when...?
Not calories, but rather the biological amount of potential energy
in the food decides whether it will be used well, poorly, or not at all.
Through the intake of artificial sugars you will under no circumstances
lose weight, but rather more probably you will gain weight.
As soon as a sweet substance touches the taste buds of the tongue,
the metabolism centres receive the message that sugar or fast absorbing
carbohydrates are entering the body. The pancreas shoots insulin out and
the liver changes its function from a "making sugar available" mode to a
"sugar storing and fat building" mode. However, since you haven't taken in
any real sugar, you feel hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) and can be affected
with symptoms such as dizziness, uneasiness, extreme hunger, - and this
usually continues until you have taken in enought carbohydrates to catch
up with the insulin overload.
If you can't satisfy your extreme craving for sweets with fresh or
dried fruit, it is better to eat a slice of cake or some chocolate, than
to irritate the satiatory centre for a few hours by consuming artificial
sugars. |
| Myth #3: High Fibre Comprimates result in a fast and
long lasting period of satiation |
These not so inexspensive Cellulose Supplements
(i.e. Matricur, CM3)without their own energy value expand in the
stomache 10-40 times when mixed with a sufficient amount of liquid, and should
thereby cause you to feel satiated (satisfied).
Expansion of the stomach is only one of the ways that signals the brain
satiation. If the blood sugar levels are too low and certain vital elements
elements (i.e. vitamins, minerals, enymes etc.)that are not
found naturally in the cellulose, hemicellulose, gums etc. are missing,
you will, despite a full stomach, still feel extreme hunger.
Fibres really do satiate, but only when they
are taken in as salad, whole grains, whole grain rice, potatoes, etc
Only then does the body receive both the satisfying long-lasting
carbohydrates as well as the vital nutrients that set the metabolism into
activation. |
| Myth # 4: During periods of fasting, protein powders or drinks
prevent a decrease of muscle mass |
The body has a sugar storage centre in the liver and a fat storage
centre under the skin and in extreme cases of obesity also in the inner organs.
However, the body has no protein storage centre.
You can eat protein until you feel full/satiated, without worry about
gaining weight.
During fasting, the much-despised fat reserves are attacked last. First
the sugar storage centre in the liver is emptied, and then muscle mass is
reduced. This may lead you to think that a high intake of protein enables
you to lose weight without losing muscle mass. This is correct!
This works only if, during fasting you play fat-burning sports for
at least 2 hours per day, so muscle is build up and not reduced. Normally,
the body only uses about 10-20 % of proteins from intaken food; - the rest
is recycled from metabolism.
An increased intake of protein only makes sense for serious athletes.Too
much animal protein for the average person strains the kidneys and vascular
system and thereby leads to high blood pressure, uric acid and gout. In this
way you will probably not lose weight, but will eventually have to accept
a worse skin and cellulite and expect that if you gain weight again, former
muscle will be replaced by fat. |
| Myth # 5: Enzymes help you to lose weight because they speed
up metabolism |
The intake of enzymes leades to a reduction of inflamations, supports
the pancreas and speeds up digestion and therby prevents fat from becoming
fixed in place. Especially suitable are Bromelaine und Papaine.
Already existing fat reserves will not be
attacked. These can only be mobilized by long lasting sports. |
| Cut down your intake! |
This is a long standing recommendation,
-
that can't be withstood for a long time because you will always be hungry
and
-
when you return back to "normal" eating habits you will gain weight,
because your body is now accustomed to the lower intake (Yo-Yo effect)

ALTERNATIVE METHODS
FOR LOSING WEIGHT
Before you decide to lose weight, think carefully whether you actually
are overweight at all. Unfortunately, the media produce totally false images
of what an ideal body should look like. Most models - both male and female-
are actually underweight. For an adult in our culture these mesures are only
possible if he or she is willing to remain in a state of constant
hunger.
The following test is a good way of determining if you need to lose
weight:
If you encounter no difficulties in performing these exercises, you
are so fit that you shouldn't worry about your weight. If, despite having
a normal body weight, you experience problems with this test, it's high
time for a health check-up. If, after this test, you understand that you
need to lose weight, then try doing so according to the following advice.
! The most important advice - drink water! |
That is, tapwater, at least 1 ½ liters per day. This alone
can lead you to lose 1-2 kilograms per month.
All of the metabolic processes in our organism take place in water and this
crucial liquid cannot be replaced by soups, teas, lemonades, fruit juices,
milk etc. If not enouch water is consumed, the metabolism can be slowed down
or blocked, preventing any weight loss. This occurs especially when water
is substituted with caffeinated, carbonated, alcoholic or other drinks containing
artificial sugars (aspartame). You should drink 1-2 liters of water per day
and a maximum of 1 cup of tea and eventually a ½ glass of wine, and
not only will your weight decrease, but also your digestion will improve
and your blood pressure, cholesterol level and blood test will be
normalised. |
Avoid foods containing artificial ingredients. |
Preservatives slow down metabolism. Artificial flavours (especially
Glutamate) and artificial sweetners (especially aspartame) interfere with
feelings of satiation in your brain and cause you to eat 15-20% more |
Only take medication in serious cases. |
Above all the long term medication containing betablockers, cortisone,
hormones, sedatives and antidepressants frequently lead to weight gain.
Heartburn, flatulence, stomach discomfort, diarrheoa
or constipation are an indication, that your digestive system is impeded.
Please don't take any medicine (especially antacids and laxatives). Instead,
wait and see if your your pain or discomfort is alleviated through increased
water intake or eventually ground flax and oat klei. If this doesn't help,
try an intestinal restoration
with
Sanum Pleomorphic Remedies (
Information
- Shop ) and Probiotics
such as Omniflora or Bactisubtil.
A healthy digestion is the basic for a fast metabolism and slim
figure. |
Eat as much fresh, unprocessed foods as you like |
Fruit, salads, nuts or only lightly processed foods such as steamed
vegetables, raw fish and steamed meat speed up the metabolism and
digestion.
Avoid milk and lowfat milk products, especially longlasting UHT milk
products and limit yourself to only a small amount of full fat products (
butter, cream, goat cheese). You should also do without all other ready made
products, because they decrease your metabolism and cause to gain weight..
|
! And finally - exercise is mandatory! |
The above mentioned advice is most effective when practiced in
combination with physical activity at least 45 minutes at a time per day.
During exercise, you should never let yourself feel out of breath, because
if you do, fat burning processes will be stopped. Only exercise until you
feel warm. The most effective forms of exercise: walking, slow running, biking,
swimming or in-line skating.
Note: The right food will speed
up your metabolism and prevent overweight! - But only by exercise the fat
on your hips and stomach will be changed in muscle. |
